The Argument from Evil is largely based on the idea that, if God is Omnipotent, why doesn’t He step in and solve so much that is going wrong in the world?

Here is where it is of infinite usefulness to recognize the equation, God is Love.

It is one thing to complain about God, and ask God to step in. God is some Huge Magical Being sitting on a cloud watching it all go down for His own amusement. (They say.)

I say, God is Love, and if God is Love, then I have God in me, and I can change the world with my Love. So I do not sit around waiting for God, or worse yet complaining about God not doing anything. I act. God acts through me, when I love. And that’s how it happens!

God’s Omnipotence is the Omnipotence of Love, and we are the Body of Christ. Those who complain and yet refuse to be joined to the Body are like runners complaining that they want to be at the finish line. Stop complaining, and start running!

I agree God is love. Would you consider yourself a Christian that follows the way of Jesus?
You mentioned the Body of Christ so I assume so.

I have been thinking a lot about this idea of Love lately. We just watched the third episode of Catholicism hosted by Fr Robert Barron, at our Church tonight. The episode was about this type of thing about how people question why do bad things happen in the world if there is a God etc. I guess what was talked about was basically the idea that God never allows bad to happen if He cannot draw good from it. That God cannot be understood in trying to figure out His plans. I made the point that we live in a fallen world and as humans we are not perfect and infallible hence a reason why some bad things may happen eg~Auschwitz for example, which was mentioned in this episode.

God is not a dispensary machine we can just demand things from, such as helps, healings and graces. We have to remember that He is omnipotent and the one who decided the way things will go in the end anyway. Though yes we do have free will, but I think God has taken this into consideration. We cannot figure out Gods ways and as soon as we try to figure Him out and think we have we are wrong, but the episode ended in saying that God is love. Which I guess is what we know about Him.
Also what people forget is that sometimes bad things have to happen in order to bring about a greater good and to make us better people. It is in suffering that our faith grows and we become better people and closer to God

These days there is too thick a cloud of repugnance and confusion surrounding the personal qualities of God. If we would have anyone come to know God then God must either directly intervene to these people or we, as his dutiful agents, must offer the best possible explanation. If one would come to understand that there is one being that is eternal and having existence before all things, they would understand that this one being must be the source of all other being. They would begin to understand God.

If one cannot understand why God must exist in the first place, they cannot understand why he is perfectly good and just.

Absolutely I am. I am Catholic. Catholicism is Love. What is happening now is vast beyond comprehension, and all within Catholic Doctrine. We are living in the time prophesied by Our Blessed Mother at Fatima, the Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart. She said that Her Immaculate Heart would triumph, “in the End.” This is the Time of the End.

God is shaking now, both heaven and earth, as prophesied.

God allowed Auschwitz, or else it could not have happened. And still, the Jews remain stubborn. But I know of at least one Jewish person who has prayed the Rosary. Through Her Rosary, Our Blessed Mother leads souls to Her Divine Son.

All meritorious suffering is in Union with Our Lord’s Passion and Death. To consciously offer it up in the moment of suffering is a very great grace. In this day, God is fulfilling His entire Holy Scripture, both Old and New Testaments. So, He is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh, just as He prophesied through Joel. As such, He is increasing His Gifts, including His Gift of Understanding in those who are accepting His graces.

Now, God’s Gift of Understanding is Infinite, because God is Infinite. So we will never come to the end of understanding more about God. It is in this sense that I agree with you that we will never “figure out” the entirety of the Mystery. That is impossible, since the Mystery is Actually Infinite. But God can and does grant Understanding to those whom He chooses for His Gifts. And the Gift of Understanding is the Power and Spirit of Elijah, which Scripture says must come before the Great Judgment.

The Power and Spirit of Elijah is the Prophetic Gift, and in our day, the simplicity of that prophetic Gift is reflective of God’s Simplicity. And it is the Rosary, together with the Penitential Rosary Crusade Prayer. I note that someone has already posted it here:

The demons are fighting now with everything they’ve got, because they know that in this time, they are done for. The only solution is the prayer of the Rosary. Discussions are fine if the person is open to considering the truth of the Faith, but, the demons are very powerful and they do not willingly loosen their grip on a soul. And the whole world has been deceived. But God is reversing that now, through His Immaculate Mother’s Rosary. So pray it!

There are two words, more abused than any others and particularly within the Christian milieu, and they are God and Love. While history has yet to agree very much about the first, it is too often presumed that the second is self evident. And yet the recent debate of same sex marriage, and the questioning of ‘strait’ marriage in the light of an almost 50% divorce rate, not to mention the extremes of difference within non western cultures, would strongly suggest that our understanding of Love could use some practical revision. And if God is not prepared to use his omniscience and omnipotence, to make strait what is crooked within human nature, the the promise of the incarnation is yet to be realized. The ‘equation’ has yet to add up! All is vanity and chasing after wind.
