Hi guys. Im in a hurry! So im sorry if this has been answered somewhere else on the forum. As the title suggests… I have told my agnostic friend about this charismatic group that ive been going to for about 2 months. He is interested and says that he wants to come have a look… What are your thoughts on this matter? Should I bring him? He is interested in the group because I told him I can really feel God’s presence there… He is less interested in the religion however.

I know that if he was interested in the religion RCIA would be a better under taking. But should I still bring him along since he is only interested in this and it could be one of the few ways he gets to meet Christ?

Have you told him about praying in tongues? Praying in tongues is one of the many ways we get in touch with God. In prayer tongues, we put aside our thoughts about this or that and simply allow ourselves to be in God’s presence. Bring your friend, and then forget about his presence and be yourself in prayer. If you do not pray in tongues or choose not to, again, be yourself in prayer and praise. Your friend is among friends.

Here is a handy link to basic information about the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. This book is available. The ISBN number on the first page of the link.

It sounds like you’re evangelizing in the best possible way. You’re not putting pressure on anyone but you’re stirring up interest. That’s great! Keep it up!

And yes, bring your friend to the Charismatic group. Give the Holy Spirit room to work and see what happens.

Who knows the Holy Spirit may read his mind through Prophecy, and thats good, only God can read hearts and minds, he will or should recognize that!
