One point about agnosticism, a lot of people will say they are agnostic simply because they don’t actually care whether there is a god. Of course, probably not on this board. If people didn’t care, they wouldn’t be here.
People who don’t care if there is a god are apatheists.

My DH and his father (Mr. 2! PHDs) are agnostic. They firmly believe that their higher education makes them “too smart” to believe in God. They think there MAY be something out there but …who knows, as it hasn’t been proven from a scientific point of view.
I once had a friend (MBS) who thought the same way. She didn’t need to believe because her education placed her above “all that”.
My arguements for the existence of God falls on their deaf ears, and I gave up the arguement years ago.

Those who believe that scientific proof is the only acceptable proof are blinded by Scientism.

As a form of dogma: “In essence, scientism sees science as the absolute and only justifiable access to the truth.”

Unfortunately, science can’t prove scientism.

This is absolutely true, and absolutely necessary if we are not to waste our lives constantly re-examining our own perceptions.

Logic can be over-rated.

They might not care whether there is a god; they might be interested in the sociology of religion. That is, after all, one of my reasons for being here.
Good answer. 🙂
