Oh, trust me, they will be back. Especially if you opened the door and tried to evangelize them.

The last conversation that I had with the 2 JW’s who frequent my neighborhood was about the name of God. I was told my Catholic Bible was the incorrect interpretation when I told them that the name of God is not jehovah but it is YAHWAH or I AM.

When I asked if they believed in the Blessed Trinity, they said no. So, I simply stated that then our conversations would have to end, but I would continue praying for their conversions and that my hope for them was that someday, Jesus would be the Lord, Savior and King of their Hearts.

Well now they delight in really “trying to save me” by sticking notes on my door inviting me to a presentation to listen to a speaker talk about Who Jesus Really Is. The presentation is on Holy Thursday! Do they really think that I would show up on Holy Thursday of all days! Of course NOT. I already know who Jesus is and my obedience is to the One, True Church where the fullness of His Truth is revealed. The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Amen!
Ok, so now you go over to the Kingdom Hall and stick notes in THEIR door inviting them to our Eucharistic celebration.

Interesting idea, but it is a sin to lie so I don’t think we should recommend this solution to anyone.

Peace
James
Your absolutely right of course. Hence the smiley face and an incorporation of a warning. 😃
In my defense I would say the question posed was, ‘how do you prevent JW’s calling?’ and this is the only thing I know of would prevent them.

Could it also be argued being economical with the truth to avoid listening to false teachings about God, or giving the impression you want to listen to them justified?

I’m not actually being serious, just having a little fun. :bounce:

Kind of figured as much but just wanted to make sure…👍👍

Did they think she was going to attack them?
🤷
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I use to chat with 2 ladies quite a bit and kindly accepted their ‘books’. I told them I was a recent Catholic revert though. I become angry after flicking thru one oneday, as they spoke of the Catholic church and did not say one nice thing about it, it was very hurtful and I was very upset.

Needless to say, next time she came, (she would come knocking every 3 weeks on a Wednesday) I told her ‘no more’. I did not like doing it, as both ladies seemed so lovely, but I realised it was only a ‘job’ to them. They wanted to convert me and there was just no way that would have happened and I told her that.

I now cannot wait for the JW’s or Mormans to come knocking…I have 3 copies of “Australian Catholics” waiting to give to them when they offer me their ‘Watch Tower’ books.😃

They have been trained not to read any material from other churches. If they accept the exchange it will quickly go in the bin.

As for those wanting to stop the visits, I believe if you ring their Kingdom Hall (or whatever it’s called) you can request to be taken off the visitation list and they’ll leave you alone.

It has a bonus benefit of also been polite.

Its always helpful to have your own little booklets on your mantle. When they come to your door, just say: “I’ll take your literature if you take mine”.
I had one guy refuse. I told him “I don’t get it. I’ll take what you have, I’ll even do you the curtousy of READING it (I’ll read anything). I’m not afraid of what you have…why are you afraid of what I have?”
Never got an answer, or an exchance of booklets.

With all of the posts about putting a statue in the yard and such…I get this image of meeting them at the door with a crucifix held out in front of them like you are warding off a vampire…😃

Peace
James…
Yeah… me too. I also imagine Bach’s Toccata and Fugue playing in the background as they hiss at you, turn into a bat, and fly away.😃
