Dr. Alan Keyes is slated to speak at rallies in South Dakota Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Oct. 16, 17, 18), in connection with a Nov. 7 referendum on South Dakota’s new ban on abortion.

The ban - -signed into law Mar. 6 by Gov. Mike Rounds - -has been forced to a referendum by pro-abortion activists.

Polls show South Dakota voters are almost evenly divided on whether to keep or overturn the restrictive abortion law - -considered the most restrictive in the nation - -with about 20 percent undecided.

The pro-life rallies are sponsored by the South Dakota Family Policy Council.

Dr. Keyes will also be interviewed Friday, Oct. 13, on radio station KSLT about his upcoming visit to South Dakota. Host Jon Anderson will talk with Dr. Keyes at 8:30 a.m. Mountain Time.

South Dakota radio interview

On Friday, Alan Keyes was interviewed by Jon Anderson of KSLT radio, a Christian station in Rapid City, South Dakota. The interview ranged from abortion, to unalienable rights, to judicial activism, to America’s culture war, to the future of our nation’s children.

Dr. Keyes took the occasion to underscore the critical importance of South Dakota’s upcoming referendum on the state’s new abortion law, to be voted on Nov. 7.

He said that pro-abortion forces — who succeeded in getting the abortion ban placed on the ballot after it was signed into law earlier in the year — are hoping to turn a referendum victory into the first endorsement of abortion by a vote of the people since Roe v. Wade.

Roe
itself amounts to “judicial fiat,” Keyes said, in defiance of the will of the people as expressed through their elected representatives.

Should South Dakota’s high-profile abortion law be overturned at the ballot on Nov. 7, the result could signal a serious setback for the pro-life movement — an outcome Keyes and other vocal opponents of abortion on demand are appealing to the state’s voters to prevent.

Keyes and other pro-life leaders will address a series of rallies Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in South Dakota, sponsored by the South Dakota Family Policy Council.

An audio stream of Dr. Keyes’ KSLT interview is available here.
