Please let us remember the real meaning of Memorial Day.
This is a particular difficult time for some of us.
Please take a moment to say a prayer for those that died for your right to do so.
Thank you.

Thank you. First time ever I am unable to visit the Wall. Tears in my eyes.

Thank you for posting this. It is a pet peeve of mine.
No one needs to thank any living people for their service with sales or barbecues. It is a solemn occasion to honor the dead.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

As regards the subject line, I normally don’t think of Billy Ray Cyrus as a profound philosophical muse, but quite right… “all gave some, some gave all”. Take a moment this Memorial Day.
