I need a suggestion on a good Caholic book on the sacrament of marriage. My husband and I are involved in a Small Christian Community in our church with 4 other couples and want to do a book study on marriage. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Theology of the Body for Beginners by Christopher West, summarizes the beautiful, prophetic teaching of our late pope on the sanctity of marriage in a readable, understandable way, I bought it for my 3 married daughters, and from now on will give it as a gift to everyone who sends me a wedding invitation.

That’s a great one. You may also want to check out “Three to Get Married” by Bishop Sheen.

Thanks for the replys. Keep them coming. I will do some research on these books. We will as a couple read the chapters and then come together to discuss them. Do either of the books mentioned have reflection questions? Also, I love to read and am interested in any other good book suggestions. If you want to read a really powerful book on the Eucharist. I recommend The Healing Power of the Eucharist. Thanks again!

Ditto on the Theology of the Body by Chris West…they actually have this in CD format…which I’m listening to right now. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I believe and so do millions of Catholics that this will be the bomb that will explode the sexual revolution spiral that our current culture. The cd’s are not only enlightening but also entertaining.

If I had couples meeting, I really would recommend a listening to this CD set together with them. My wife and I listen to it in the car and usually we end up staying in the parking lot unable to stop listening!

God bless your apostolate.

I don’t know how it compare’s to Theology of the Body for Beginners, but Sex and the Sacred City by Steve Kellmeyer is a good, relatively short discussion of the Theology of the Body. It has discussion/reflection questions at the end of each chapter.
