Certain individuals in my area are attempting to start a First Friday vigil in honor of the Two Hearts. This vigil combines the First Friday and First Saturday devotions as requested by the Blessed Mother at Fatima in reparation to the Lord for the sin and blasphemy rampant in the world.

This vigil involves a Friday evening Mass and Saturday early morning Mass with the associated prayers and meditations. We are hoping to get the youth and young adults involved in this vigil.
It looks as though it is something that can be pulled off if we can get the priests necessary to do it.

It is believed that a devotion of this type would be a very powerful intercession. Please pray for this effort.

Are any of you familiar with this devotion, and how is it going?

Hi Ceil. I’ve heard of it, but haven’t been aware of it… in our current parish. I will pray that it goes well in yours. Please update us on this. Thank you and God bless. ❤️ ❤️

I haven’t heard of the Two Hearts Vigil since pre V2! Wonderful to hear it is still known and celebrated. Our parish looks like loosing even regular Sunday Mass replaced by Eucharistic Services and weekday Masses are now long gone…all due to our priest shortage. Please pray for vocations at the Vigil!

Blessings…Barb

Praying that many, many priestly vocations (especially for Australia) will come out of World Youth Day 2008. :gopray2:

Thank you, MV…My prayer too! Although it takes quite a few years from entrance to seminary and ordination, so I think with the situation here as it is, none of us here should be overcome if we do loose regular Sunday Mass as long as the crisis should last. I think we need to prepare ourselves for the possibility and in confident trust that The Lord still always knows best, while we all try to think of potential solutions/ ways of coping, both perhaps temporarily as well as potentially long term.

I think a large part of the problem here and all the bickering that is taking place is because many Catholics see Sunday Mass as sum and total of their Catholicism. The crisis is forcing that situation to come into the open and hopefully addressed…and this is a very very good thing!
I am off topic of this thread:o , so to discuss it further, perhaps PM or a new thread?

Blessings…Barb:)

We should support seminarians in the third world countries as well. Perhaps some of them can come here as missionaries.

The vocations there are many, but the lack of funding is the problem.
