I have read a number of Ms. Arnold’s AAA answers to questions regarding people who take camping trips, and whether they are still obligated to attend Mass, even though it would be inconvenient for them to find a parish in their general location. Her response has been for the persons in question to seriously evaluate what their priorities are in life, whether or not God is more important than their entertainment.
I accept her instruction as good prudence. Now let me ask for your opinions on this related matter.
Given that China has no open Catholic churches in communion with Rome (or is this true?), and that we must not attempt to contact the underground Church, a vacation in China would be necessarily without Mass.
Without considering an absolutely necessary business trip to China, does the lack of open Catholic Masses preclude a voluntary vacation in China?
