In true SNL Emily fashion: NEVERMIND!
I just read the Liturgy Education Links and found my answer…apparently it is permissible. But I still don’t like it…
At mass this morning I notice that the altar linens included two table runners that may be bought at any discount department store with the fall motifs of leaves and acorns. Both were draped over the altar at varying lengths. The green colors for ordinary time were missing completely, replaced by beige linen-look table cloths. At the foot of the altar facing the church were pumpkins, gourds, leaves and other fall decorations.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this does not look to be liturgically accurate. In fact, it looked very Protestant. Is this deviation from the usual Color of the Liturgy acceptable?
