The order for a liturgical procession usually is:
Master(s) of Ceremonies
*Leads the procession; directs other servers and ministers
Thurifer and Boat Bearer
*handles thurible and incense with celebrant
Acolyte Cross Acolyte
*handles processional cross and candles; used at procession, recession, Gospel;
Torchbearers and/or other Servers
Lectors and EMHCs
*read appointed readings, announcements and prayer petitions; assist at Holy Communion if necessary
Seminarians
*assists at Mass in any way necessary (i.e as servers, lectors, emhc etc)
Deacons
*assists at Holy Communion as Ordinary ministers of Communion
Deacon with Evangelarium
*Proclaims Gospel and assists at the offertory unless another deacon is delegated
