Evreyone seems so excited about Altered Nuclear Transer as an alternative to cloning. Many Catholic bioethicists have come out for it, some against it. It seems to me that ANT has two problems: 1. How will researchers know if they are creating a “biological artifact” and not a genetically crippled human embryo and 2. like SCNT, ANT needs human eggs, lots of them, which puts women at risk of exploitation for their eggs. Do other Catholics have an opinion on ANT?
