So I can curse like a sailor at times, which I will admit is not very ladylike at all…any ideas for funny/ cute things I can say instead?

Fudge
Fiddlestick
Craptastic
Oh Crud
Assets instead of a**
a-hole, butthole, or jerk instead of a**hole or b*******
beeswax instead of b****
cognitively or intellectually impaired instead of other words

Definitely it’s a great way to expand your vocabulary. Using curse words is a great way to shorten it and be unholy.

I like using schnell as as “cuss,” even though its just German for “fast.” Fahrvergnügen is also a good alternative to the F word.

My sister(RIP)used to say OH SUGAR! when she was frustrated instead of oh sh…t. She was a pretty spiritual person. Wish she were here. You are judged by what comes out of your mouth. Peace.

My mom and dad did not allow us to say “darn” or “heck” or other by-words. As they said, and I believe now, you might as well say the actual word.

The best way to stop using curse words is to go to church more often. Spending more time with God is the best cure.

“Gosh” or “darn” work well for me. I recommend those words the most. Or you could go one step further and say “gosh diggity darn”. “Pumpernickel” is another good one, but it’s not for everyone.

Oh, I’ve used the “pardon my French” phrase fairly often. 😮

Fahrvergnügen
How do you even say that haha?

I really love that word, and I use it all of the time.

It’s German for “chicken,” as one of its more generic translations. 😁

My maternal Gramma was a very devout Christian. She didn’t believe in using any curse words. On the rare occasion that she did get really mad, she would swear in German, instead of English.

I guess maybe she thought that was better, for some reason! 😉

"Pardon my French’ when they become aware they’ve used swear words in a female’s presence.
I used that phrase around my mother and an aunt who was visiting, but she still told me she’d wash my mouth out with soap if I didn’t stop cussing. She meant it too. Mom is in her 90s now and I think she’d still mean it.

I have also heard the term “Sugar Beets” used as a substitute phrase that well too.

I use Shucks or Shuckins with the occasional dang or darn thrown in.

A friend of mine uses the phrase “Sugar foot” as a substitute for swear words.
