Alternative medicine?

What is the Catholic view on alternative medicine such as herbal supplements and iridologists helping in p(name removed by moderator)ointing health-related illnesses (i.e. determination of food sensitivities/allergies) or vitamin/mineral definiciencies?

As long as the diagnosis and cure avoid spiritual references then the Church leaves those things up to rational people to debate, discuss, and experiment.
