Am I already in Heaven?

So, I’ve been reflecting a great deal on St. Augustine’s City of God, and I recall how in Book 11 he brings up a point he made in his Confessions, which is that God created time with the world, and that all is present before God (mainly in response to those who ask ‘why did God create the world at this specific time and not another?’). The more I think about it, I begin to think of my own creation in part with my Creator’s view of me. Is my creation and death simultaneous before God? Is my potential reunion with God seen before him now? Therefore by that logic, could I already be in Heaven or Hell?

Perhaps when I die, I gain even further consciousness, as to be aware of everything like God is, being outside of time?

To say that you are already in Heaven is to still apply time to the subject, so it doesn’t really work.

From God’s perspective you have already been judged, are in the process of being judged, and will be judged in the future; so, assuming you go to Heaven (no aspersions intended), you are already there, are arriving, and will be there in the future all at once.

From our perspective though, we are still limited by time, and so we are alive and therefore our souls are not in Heaven. We experience Heaven each week in the Eucharist, but we are not actually -there-.

I’m sure heaven FAR surpasses anything this life could offer.
Scripture says “Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, what God has prepared for those who love Him”.

Exciting to think about though! 😉

Like, if I am in heaven now, let me say it is not what I was expecting.

By that logic, you would have been created in Heaven or Hell already. But are your premises clear enough to you? About time, St. Augustine says he doesn’t know what it is (I don’t know either). What is eternity, on the other hand? Oh, my God!.. I wouldn’t spend time on this algebra.
