Am I Catholic?

Hello,

I have been reading through forums about people becoming Catholic, Baptized, etc…

I have been baptized Catholic since I was an infant, However I have not made my first communion. I will begin the process within the new year. I left the church when I was 12, I fought with my parents that religion was a “fairy tale” and I wanted nothing part of the lie. Ofcourse when you are a teenager you know “everything”… pfff . However I have returned to the church with my head on straight now and have been going to mass every sunday. I do not take part in the Eucharist because I have not made my first communion yet.

So Am I a catholic, Or do i need to make a first communion to call myself catholic?

Well… you were baptized.

and if you say the Nicean Creed at Mass I’m pretty sure that makes you Catholic, even w/out Communion.

So I would say you are Catholic.

Might want to check that though.

You are a baptised and from what you say believing member of he Holy Catholic Church. What is more you seem to be taking your membership of The Holy Church seriously.

Yes, like Monica said, once you are baptized you were part of the family just as your physical birth made you are part of your parent’s family.

To be considered a “complete” Catholic (lol) You would need Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. You should go through RCIA to recieve commuion and Confirmation.
