Am I excused from Mass attendance?

I live on an island and we have a visiting priest/deacon in the summer but the rest of the year we are on our own. The transportation to the mainland for Sunday Mass is about $17 and it takes a minimum of 4-5 hrs in time. The money element alone is difficult. Are my circumstances such that my obligation is nullified?
