Hello,
I have tried to look over the internet for some type of Catholic guide for specifically, Gluttony. I know it is one of the Cardinal sins and one can be guilty of it through things other than food, such as anything used or taken more than moderatly or abusively. My problem, deals with food, or more specifically, my appetite. There are times where I am very hungry. This happens at work, at home. I end up eating alot, never to the point that I have a stomach ache.
Where my scrupulosity comes into play is that I feel I have to go to confession every week because one day out of the week I just ate alot during the day.
I have a very blessed life. I feel that this may be the cross which I am supposed to bear. People have told me that I am on being to hard on myself and eating alot is not a sin. I have gone to my Pastor for advice, but he never came out and said yes or no whether it is a sin and I need to confess it every time it happens.
I know there are millions in the world starving. Am I being too hard on myself? Or is this guilty feeling maybe Gods way of telling me to not eat as much? Thanks for any help or information you may have. God Bless.
