Am I nutty to want my rosaries blessed?

I am used to (and like to) have my rosary beads and other holy things blessed by a priest. These days priests accept and do bless my beads but look at me as though I were a nut. So I began wondering if the priest’s blessing makes any difference or not. Am I just being old-fashioned or really a nut?

There is nothing “nutty” or “old-fashioned” about wanting to have sacramentals blessed by a priest. Perhaps it is possible that you are misinterpreting the priests’ reactions to being asked to bless your sacramentals? In any case, so long as the priest gives the blessing, I recommend ignoring any startled reactions to your requests.
