One of my children is having their first child shortly. I am concerned that she will not have the baby baptized Catholic. Although she was raised Catholic, she chose to marry in another faith - her husband is not Catholic. I think she chose to do this because she didn’t want to go through Catholic requirements of getting married, etc… I was not a happy camper, and I’m sure I’m not going to be a happy camper about the baby being baptized in another Christian faith. They don’t regularly practice any faith. Many years ago, when I was a young Catholic school student, we were told we could baptize someone, ourselves, in case of an emergency. If I were to baptize this child, would the child, indeed, be Catholic. Would I tell my daughter I did this? Not at this time. When would be a good time - I don’t have that answer yet.
