Am I ready for a vocation?

Hi,
I’m a strong catholic, i go to church reguarly and pray every day. I was an altar server for more than 7 years and during these years i had a feeling inside me like i was being called, to the priesthood. I want to help make a difference and becouse of my background i believe that this is the feeling inside. Am i being called? What do i do if i am? I’m very confused and in desperate need of some help.

Hi,

Certainly, you’re ready to begin learning about what God wants for you. The first sign of a vocation to the priesthood is the desire. So it sounds like you have that one. You might want to talk to your parish priest about this or the vocation director of your diocese. You also need to consider whether you want to be a diocesan priest or a religious order priest.

I encourage you to pray every day for the grace of discernment. Most of all, spend regular time before the Lord in the tabernacle. He will reveal what plans He has for you. You are in our prayers.
