Am I seeing things?

It’s hard for me to remember exactly but I don’t ever remember the forums being this color. (Unless it was by choice of the user.)
 
I think it was a more sandy brown color way back when… I joined in May of '04
 
Aside from the color, does anyone like the layout? That is what I like more than the ‘old’ way…it is easier to find my posts. 😃

One thing is that the site uses all of the real estate on my monitor. The previous version only used a little part in the middle of the web browser - this is using most of the browser, so things are easier to read - except for the grey, which doesn’t seem to provide enough contrast.
 
They upgraded the software on the Message Board. This is actually the standard look that was developed about 4 or 5 years ago so they must have been running some pretty old software. This should be more stable, secure and will eventually add more features.

It WILL support multiple color formats, my guess is that they just haven’t have time to put them in yet.

EDIT - If you go in under options at the very bottom there is misc options and one changes the skin, there are 4 different options. The default is the brown one you are seeing.

Hi Joe, I don’t see options? :confused:
 
Oh, I get it. Unless they’ve been tweaking it throughout the day, the color you see seems to depend on your computer. On my laptop it’s all gray. On my PC at work, it was a brownish/sepia/khaki color.

If you move the mouse over the arrow next to “Profile” near the top of the screen you will see “Edit Options” as a choice. Click on it and then scroll down to “Miscellaneous Options”. One of those options is “Forum Skin” where you can choose your colors. But it comes with the nice little information bit that, “Please note that some forums here may override your skin choice temporarily.”

As of this post the skins option is not yet working.

first saw it…LOL
I do like the sidebars at the top of the page and the new format is fine with me. Mine
comes out gray, by the way.

Does anyone else have that WIDE white space at the top? I can’t click the “new thread” button on top. Only the one on the bottom. I guess they’re still working on it… huh? 🤷

I sure hope the upgrades won’t mean that I can’t be a member anymore (hope that the upgrades aren’t dependant on brand new, state of the art computer systems 😦 like many sites. If so, I won’t be around much longer 😦 ). I’ve already had to re-register once this week.
 
I kinda pref the old color, it was so upbeat. this color is a little sad…BUT, I dont post here b/c of the color! 🙂

The space you’re talking about is where the home, search,groups, etc. is on mine. I
don’t have a blank space. Do you have anyone computer savvy? They may be able to
guide you.
 
I love color and when things are in grey black/white it makes me feel dizzy…and makes my eyes hurt… 😦 lol…My computer at work’s background is very colorfull it blinds everyone else but I love it! 😃 But hey at least this is ok, can’t complain…

It must be a Lent Thing… It is hard on my eyes. I don’t like it but I’m a CAF addict and can’t stay away!

Hope changing my font and color makes it better.
 
It’s been a couple of days now and I REALLY don’t like this. It’s boring; it even makes the threads seem boring. The reason I like CAF over other Catholic sites is because it’s nice looking and cheerful. This is hard to read. I’m not so addicted to CAF that I can’t do without it until they BRING THE COLOR BACK!!!
