I began worshipping in an Anglican church in 2008 but never renounced my Catholicism and was never formally received into the Anglican church. I understand the premise of once a Catholic always a Catholic, but in this instance am I merely defined as a lapsed Catholic or what?

Yes! You may be lapsed, non practicing, but you are always Catholic. And the light is on for you to come home 🙂

You are Catholic in virtue of your baptism. You might not be practicing, but you are still sacramentally and canonically Catholic.

My question is, why do you ask? Why is it important to you to clarify your status? Just curious.

It sounds like you are a confused Catholic. The Anglican Church was founded by Henry. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus. Go where Jesus is.

Come back Home to your true Mother. Mother Church!

She’s waiting for you with welcoming arms as her Most Holy Spouse smiles on, from above!

Come back home! You are still a Catholic, but as Gab123 said, go where Jesus is.
