I was told that American Red Cross donates funds to Pl.Parenthood. I can not find info. confirming this other then a Red Cross chapter involved w/ PP. Does anyone have a link confirming such information?

No. However I quit giving monies to Red Cross when they became Red Cross /Red Crescent. I want my charity dollars going out in the name of Christ - not a Crescent. Just IMHO if I understand the situation correctly.

God forbid if your home is ever damaged by fire or tornado, will you turn down aid from the Red Cross when they seek you out to offer relief?No. However I quit giving monies to Red Cross when they became Red Cross /Red Crescent. A bit off the subj. of my question but when I worked for a local non-profit I learned that the Red Cross gave shelter to people burned out of their home. I later found out it was 1 or 2 nights only. Now maybe that was just the local chapter.
I resent charities collecting money and then underwriting another cause w/ the $ collected.

My understanding is that Red Crescent is what they (Red Cross) go by (are called)when giving in the Islamic Countries. After 911, News stations reported if I recall correctly, some charities ( I can not say Red Cross was one of them) were caught actually engaging in fraud. Ergo I have become much more perspicaious as to where charity funds go to. That aside I will give to the Salvation Army before Red Crescent/Cross anyday of the week. Then of course there is the Catholic Charities.What’s a Crescent? Give them blood, not money!
Blood donated to the Red Cross goes directly to your local hospitals to help people. If you’re worried about where money’s going, then don’t give them any. But please give blood if you’re willing and able.

A hearsay is a very dangerous and unfair means to throw the Red Cross under the bus after all they do for every possible community.

11 years ago, just prior to 9/11, my apt. was damaged by a tornado and forced me out for two nights while my apt. was repaired. Red Cross was there, Catholic Chariites was not.Catholic Charities will also be there to give relief…
