******Amnesty International Reaffirms Pro-Abortion Position, Bishop Resigns **
LifeNews.com/int387.html

Mexico City, Mexico (LifeNews.com) – Amnesty International affiliates have reaffirmed a decision their leading officials made in April to endorse abortion. The vote reconfirms the human rights group’s position supporting abortion in cases when women are victims of sexual abuse – especially in war-torn areas.

Following Friday’s vote to endorse abortion, a leading British bishop resigned.

The Rt. Rev Michael Evans, Bishop of East Anglia and the head of the Catholic Church in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, wrote a special prayer for the organization for Catholics to use to pray that it has a change of heart.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Amnesty International that you want it to reverse its decision to support abortion. Go to web.amnesty.org/contacts/engindex to contact the group and express your opposition. Also, use the group’s web site to find your national affiliate and tell them you oppose the idea.

I’ll start by be “taking action” in my own house: I’ve got an old Amnesty International that I’ll be throwing away.

What a shame this is.

I knew they were considering this a while back, but I hadn’t heard they officially adopted a pro-abortion stance.

What’s really disturbing is that, at Mass today, Father talked in his homily about being “on fire” – i.e. passionate – about doing God’s work, and held up the founder of AI as an example. When he said this, I was wondering if I should say something to him after Mass, but I decided not to since I wasn’t sure what their decision had been…now I wish I had! :o

Peace,
Dante

I have sent AI a note expressing my sorry and regret over their decision to trample on the rights of children and women.

This really galls me to no end. I mean, here they say they’re for human rights and all, and then they turn around and support abortions. Talk about hypocrisy! Yes, they do good work in other areas, but I really hope they will reconsider their position on this!

There goes all support from me… wont be supporting them in the future.

I remember something like this with UNICEF before, too. Don’t they support abortion, too?

There’s still time. Gently bring him the news.

God bless,
Ed

I wrote them a letter telling them that I will no longer support them financially because of this decision. I am most certainly giving them any of my hard earned money.
