Amy Richards Is The Poster Child For The Democratic Party

Amy Richards may be the new poster child for the Democrat party. How proud the democrats must be, today, knowing that Roe v. Wade has been taken to the next step in its inevitable (dare I say it?) “evolution”. Liberals love that word. For those who haven’t read the story, the following is a synopsis.

Amy Richards (Ms. Richards) lives with her boyfriend Peter. Ms. Peters said that she was “tired of being on the pill” and, after discussing it with Peter (how wonderfully responsible of her), came to the decision that, should she become pregnant, they would keep the child. Wait! They would actually keep the child? Although this doesn’t sound terribly liberal…just wait…there’s more. She and Peter joyfully became pregnant. But, it was only after Amy visited her obstetrician that her joy began to fade. Ms. Richards was going to have triplets.

Ms Richards said (in an interview with Amy Barrett): “My immediate response was I cannot have triplets. I was not married; I lived in a five-story walk-up in the East Village; I worked freelance; and I would have to go on bed rest in March. I lecture at colleges, and my biggest months are March and April. I would have to give up my main income for the rest of the year. There was a part of me that was sure I could work around that. But it was a matter of, do I want to? I looked at Peter and asked the doctor: ‘‘Is it possible to get rid of one of them? Or two of them?’’ The obstetrician wasn’t an expert in selective reduction, but she knew that with a shot of potassium chloride you could eliminate one or more.”

So, with just a shot of potassium chloride, the heartbeats of two of the babies would be stopped forever.

No problem for Ms. Richards and, when she found out that two of the babies were twins and one was “stand-alone”, she was relieved. That made her decision easier. She would just kill the twins! Besides, the “doctors” even have a term for it. It’s called “Selective Reduction”. As long as there’s a medical term, that makes it all right! Besides, after the “procedure” was completed, she didn’t feel sick anymore. That’s the most important thing. So, she knew everything was okay and, subsequently, did give birth to a baby boy. Ms. Richards, again, commented: “I had a boy, and everything is fine. But thinking about becoming pregnant again is terrifying. Am I going to have quintuplets? I would do the same thing if I had triplets again, but if I had twins, I would probably have twins. Then again, I don’t know.” Poor thing. She “doesn’t know”. But. Then, that’s the liberal mindset…they really don’t know.

Yes. Amy Richards is, indeed, the poster child of the liberals and leftists . . .

Here’s a bio:
soapboxinc.com/bio_amy.html

The story sounds as if it were written as a joke; unfortunately it’s true. After being published in the NYT, it got blogged all over the place.

Does Ms. Richards realize how vacuous she sounds? She cannot have a brain in her head. But her story is the logical result of the mindset which regards a child as a triviality on a par with one’s choice of mayonnaise.

“Poster child for idiocy” is more like it.

I’ll pray for her and *all * her children.

Thanks for the link. I never heard of this until yesterday. Hesitated to post an old story. But then sent it to a few of my net buddies and they had never read about it either. And we are all poltical activists! Not specificially pro-life but we follow, we thought, most everything.

Shows how the internet works. Never assume.

That aside…this stunned me. Had no idea anyone would:

Do this.

Think nothing of it.

You’re welcome, David_Paul.

I had always heard from abortionists that women who ‘terminate their pregnancies’ are poor, teenaged, in danger of their lives from giving birth, abused, or victims of rape or incest. Does this story mean that comfortable, mature, healthy, educated women have abortions to minimize the disruption to their lifestyles? I am shocked. Shocked.

Horrible.

Catolico and Adonis33…I assume you two, as I, had not read of it either.

Perhaps it was because of the campaign last year. But serverinus mentioned bloggers were all over the story and as I search around, I see their tracks.

This story is beyond what I could see anyone doing.

I’m wondering if there is a problem in the pro-life movement. If I and my litle circle of news junkies who follow things such as this missed it, the general public–the “undecided” (apathetic) vote pro-lifers need to reach–surely is unaware of it.

I didn´t know about this, but I do live in Latin America so I don´t have as much access to american news as you do.
I hope you are wrong about your assumption that there is a problem in the pro-life movement, a case as hideous as this one should be front page news.

After a google search, I find that Amy Richards is a classic urban liberal Democrat.

Today the Democrat Party offers real choice in voting because it now poopoos the traditional family and rejects the idea that children are a gift from God.

I wonder if she will ever tell the surviving child that she “selectively terminated” his twin siblings. Would that make the child feel more special because he was chosen to live? or more fearful that if he causes his mother too much grief, or becomes too much of a burden, that she will devise some plan or method to terminate him too!
Very, very sad.

Good point. A mother’s responsibility is to teach values. What sort of values does this one have?

I was too negative. Should have said: Here is a problem. If we fix this we can do better.

I’m a merchant. Problems are opportunities. Discovering you were not effectively communicating when you thought you were is a good thing.

The pro-life movement in America is ascendent. Much to my surprise (and to the pro-abortion lobby too I am sure). For decades we have been indoctrinated by our media with the idea that “no one changes their mind on abortion”

Well guess what?

They do.

And we have those thousands of activists who stood out there saying no when the attacks on them were the worst to thank for it.

I haven’t heard of this until now. I am somewhat of a news junkie myself, and suprised this hasn’t surfaced until now.

👍

Let´s hope and pray more and more people who support abortion change their mind :gopray:

I still feel terrible about this case though. It hit me especially hard 😦
