St. Ignatius Loyola, who founded the Jesuit order, an event which would have a mighty effect on the course of Catholic history, wasn’t religious when he was younger; in fact, his mind was steeped then in secular values.

Saint Ignatius told of this, the first of his great visions during his life, in his autobiography. He said that this vision freed him from all carnal thoughts for the rest of his life. This painting was done in the18th-century by Miguel Cabrera.

One of the prominent saints in my university. I’ve received many blessings through his intercession 😃

St. Ignatius, pray for us!
