I have been given permission to introduce my 4 year old niece and 9 year old nephew to the Catholic Faith. The four year old LOVES the Holy Baby DVD and I found a good prayer book for the 9 year old - but what kind of videos or books would any of you recomend for the 9 year old to introduce him to Jesus and the Faith?
Thank you!:hmmm:

We used what’s called the Faith and Life Series. Beautiful pictures and well written. It’s a series of books (we bought at a Catholic Bookstore). Each chapter deals with a different subject and there’s questions for discussion at the end. We also bought the Loyola Book of Saints. My kids have LOVED reading about the Saints. I highly reccomend it.

What a wonderful Aunt you are!
God bless, CM

I remember reading the St. Joseph Picture Books when I was little, and they are still around now. Little ~30pg books on saints, basic beliefs, etc. I always loved the pictures. Look up catholicchild.com for a variety of videos. I have some of the CCC videos on the saints, which are probably good for a 9yo. God Bless!

There are some cartoons available from the EWTN website, ‘Saints and Heroes’ I think they are called. There are stories about St Francis, the children of Fatima, Juan Diego, St Bernadette and St Nicholas (and some others). My 4 yo loves the cartoons and they are quite informative. I think they may be OK for a 9 year old…they are cartoons but not too baby-ish.

Good luck!
