He’s been educated by Catholics since the age of four, and has lived in Italy since the age of 20, and that makes him an expert on Islam and/or Egypt?

I’m happy for his conversion, but the way the article puffs him is ridiculous.

There are certainly valid concerns about the direction the “Arab Spring” will take/is taking.

At first I totally supported the Arab Spring, but one of its goals seems to be removing the last protections Christians and other non-Muslims have so they can be openly persecuted. God help them.

You don’t have to be an expert to know that putting the Muslim Brotherhood - the parent of al-Qaeda and Hamas - in charge of a country isn’t going to be good. Their slogan is thus: “Allah is our goal. The Koran is our law. The Prophet is our leader. Jihad is our path, and death in Allah’s way is the highest of our aspirations.”

And that’s confirmed when the first action taken is growling at Israel, getting ready to break a treaty, and trying to cozy up with (not the Shah’s) Iran.
 
The Arab Spring was supported unusually fast by our federal government…when many of us saw it as a springboard for political Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s founder was the uncle of Arafat. It was in collusion with the Nazis in the 1920’s and committed some pogroms against the Jews way back then, and was responsible for the assassination of Sadat.
