Hello friends,
Jack T. Chick is no longer with us here on Earth however his anti-Catholic legacy and his seeds of misinformation, confusion and lies sowed in the hearts and minds of many believers still lives on even now. There is an excellent refutation of his gospel tracts that is worth reading and sharing online to help others also.

Kindly check out Why Is Mary Crying? Jack Chick’s Gospel Tract About the Virgin Mary Exposed!

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

I really love it so much and you will as well. God bless you all and happy Holy Week!

May God have mercy on Jack Chick’s soul… so much hatred in that man’s heart…

I guess Jack Chick did something good. He helped make me Catholic when I saw how ridiculous these arguments were.

I know we had tracts in the tract rack in the back of my Baptist Church, but I can’t remember any of Jack Chick’s tracts. I do remember some being cartoonish, so I guess I can’t say for sure. They are really quite silly reading them now.

LOL. Well, that is something Jack Chick wouldn’t have loved to read or know that his anti-Catholic literatures actually ended up bring a soul to the dreaded Catholic Church he spent his entire life warning and doing all sorts of things possible to make the world stay away from.

I think initially he thought people were being led away from the way of salvation by “false” doctrines and dogma’s in the Roman Catholic Church and he wanted to expose what he felt were “lies”. I know he eventually was labeled a source of hate speech. Very sad and not the least bit humorous.

Let’s remember that Jack Chick, despite the bad things he said about the Catholic Church, probably did lead people who were completely unfamiliar with or rejecting of Jesus to be saved through Jesus. Some of his tracts that do not focus on anti-catholic themes are very moving. I recently read his “Kitty in the Window” tract, which focuses on an elderly lady who is about to commit suicide and is deterred at the last minute by a door-to-door evangelist who shares the love of Jesus with her. (Meanwhile, a mean guy who rejects Christ is being flown straight to hell.) He has other good tracts that I’ve read.

I did an indulgence for him last year as I think he had a ton of creativity and was far from all bad.

Well, as it is said that even a dead clock (analogue) is right at least twice a day, so I do not doubt for a moment that indeed Jack T. Chick in his crusade against the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church also has led some to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. However, how many people has Mr. Chick led away from the Catholic Church and probably from Christianity all together as well as a result to his style of writing and presentation?

If you want to hate him, fine. I like to think he was saved. I’ve enjoyed a number of his pamphlets, not the Mary one, and not the one that was an apologia for a child molester, but plenty of others that had nothing to do with Catholicism and actually were good, well-presented morality tales.

He had no intention of leading people away from Jesus, in fact the opposite. There are probably people in the world who claim they were “led away from Jesus” by a priest’s homilies too, when the priest didn’t intend anything of the sort. People who leave Jesus and blame it on others are making excuses.

Jesus Christ went through His most bitter Passion that all of humanity including Jack Chick, you and me would be saved by the merits of His once for all sacrifice on Calvary to the Father who so loved us that He made/formed us in our mother’s womb. So indeed I will be glad to see Mr. Chick and if possible all humanity including people like Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden and Judas Iscariot saved and spending eternity with God our loving Father in Heaven.

I understand what you mean with this, though unlike you I don’t experience his pamphlets in any positive way, neither when I was an atheist nor a protestant. Like you I have a hope that God can work good of what Jack Chick did.

As for the eternal fate of Jack Chick, I don’t know. We’re left with the speculation of whether God can convert someone in the last few moments before they die. He certainly had people praying for him. So it remains a mystery we’ll never know this side of the grave.

We can hope, but at the same time we can’t be in denial: He didn’t play his cards right.

Do Chick’s tracts really need refuting?

Their ridiculousness speaks for itself.

Honestly its been a while since I’ve seen them discussed. I think they were only a thing back when the New Atheist movement happened, and they needed Christian targets to mock.

i’ll be honest, when I was in protestant circles, these tracts had the most impact (by far) of bringing people to church that previously knew little or nothing of Chist.

They do need refuting. I have come across Evangelical ‘scholars’ who take the words of Alberto Rivera and Jack Chick as their primary sources. Over here in West Africa where Christianity is still booming, there are a lot of Christians whose Christianity was formed or influence by Jack Chick.

Jack Chick is a very BIG INFLUENCE in Protestant circles here in Africa and it is very dangerous.

Atheists used to mock at Christians through the eyes of Chick? Wow! That is new for me.
