If two very large groups of people gathered for a prayer petition one group petitioning for “victory” and “estroying the enemy” and…

the second group petitions God for “peace,” and “conversion” then…

Which group finds favor with God?

The people who seek to do God’s will, rather than asking Him to do their will.

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, its not a matter of God being on our side, but one of whether we are on His side.

If by “destroying the enemy” they mean the devil, then they both find favor, because they are asking for the same thing, but in different ways.

If that is not what you mean, and the one group is asking God to “destroy” people, then it would seem that this group will not find favor with God because they are praying for an evil to fall upon someone else, which is contradictory to the nature of prayer.

No one should ever pray that people be killed. What one prays for is the success of legitimate missions in warfare and a quick restoration of the peace. For a just war is like a police action–only as much force as necessary to restore peace and order to the countries involved ought to be used to attain that goal.

Thank you, you covered both aspects of the question. In the carnal sense “destroy” is the operative word. And God can melt the hearts of both combatants. T^here are no boundaries in the spiritual aspect of “conversion.”

We are in a war and BOTH sides seem painfully unaware of what God expects from us.

Peace is a gift from God…

War is NOT.
