Hello. I like Aquinas and I like analytic philosophy (what I know of it). I was wondering if anyone could give me a concise but rigorous primer on Analytic Thomism. Everything I have found in my brief searching is either too in depth or too shallow. Most importantly, I guess I am looking for an explanation of Aquinas’ conception of God from an analytic perspective. Thanks.

This book may help you.

Thank you for the link. That book may in fact help me, but as a father of four who is working full time as a teacher and taking classes and whose wife is working part time and taking classes, I don’t currently have the resources, either time or money, to acquire it and read. I was hoping that someone might be able to stream line the knowledge gaining process for me. I am familiar enough with both Aquinas and analytic philosophy that I don’t think you’d need to start from scratch. I know less analytic philosophy but I did have a masters level class on Wittgenstein a while back.

Any more help would be appreciated.

O.K. I assume you have googled the subject where there are a number of free articles you can study at your leisure. Good luck. 🙂

Hahah. I can see the topic is not especially interesting to anyone else so I guess that is the route I will have to take. Conversations with those who are more knowledgeable on a topic are always the most efficient way to learn new ideas, but it doesn’t seem like that is going to happen so I will go with the articles. Thanks again for replying with something.

There’s a lot by Anthony Kenny that’s good. However, there are more faithful presentations of Thomism and analytic philosophy combined, in particular, Peter Geach, Brian Davies and Herbert McCabe.
