:yyeess: Its hard to top Hillsong Australia’s CD’s over last 20 years. You Pentecostals have the best lyrics / rhythms. 👍
 
I’ll accept the award on behalf of my fellow Pentecostals. Btw, Hillsong is my denomination, Assemblies of God. :yyeess:

For my taste, Hillsong does indeed have awesome lyrics. But their way of playing them is too toned down, too easy listening for my taste. Those same songs are better when played a little more rock ‘n’ roll… as my church’s praise & worship band does.

What we seek is what the Early [real emergent] Church of 1st/2nd Centuries practiced. It is probably more like Hillsong … and not rock-n-roll.

Prayerful praise. Uplifted hands. Lyrics of a gratitude / thanksgiving. Go back to your musical roots … 😃
 
in their specialty they are as good or better then most other high profile praise teams. i don’t know if more “rock n roll” is what is called for. I have never sat down for an entire Hillsong DVD but from their hits you hear a 6 to 8 minute mid tempo anthem which all pretty much convey the same emotional and sonic territory. I don’t know if I would use all Hillsong for a 30 minute praise and worship break, much less a separate P&W service. Well if it was all Hillsong songs some would have to be a different style and/or tempo.
