i was wondering why Catholics are opposed to human cloning. The answer is probably a short and concise one and if so that’s fine. I was just curious…as usual. 😛

Like all sins against marriage, the 6th commandment, artificial conception technologies deliberately separate the unitive and procreative aspects of the marriage act.

Just as with in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination, cloning takes place outside the context of human sexual intercourse between spouses. Therefore, it is a gravely and intrinsically disordered use of the sexual faculties.

That is exactly right but I would like to add one more thing. We cannot destroy one human life for the benefit of another human life. In addition to the above reasons why human cloning is wrong, those involved also wish to destroy the human beings that they create, all in the name of progress!!!
 
I would add that clones are “created” in man’s image, not God’s.
