Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple blessing God. (Luke 24:50-53)
I was praying and reflecting on this passage today while in the chapel at my parish. I like going to the chapel because it is a sacred place where I feel closer to Jesus. The tabernacle is there. This passage struck me because not only does it say the apostles worshipped Jesus it says that after Jesus ascended into heaven they were continually in the temple blessing God. So even the apostles who were as close to Jesus as anybody, needed somewhere sacred to go where they could worship God. This Tradition continues with us down to this day.

Jesus was teaching in the Temple every day, the Apostles continued to teach in the Temple every day.
