Hi everyone!

Our neighbor’s daughter is turning 5 today, and I would like to write the Angele Dei in Spanish and English inside of a card for her (the gift is an angel statue).
Angel of God, my guardian dear
In whom God’s love entrusts me here
Ever this day, be at my Side
To light, to guard
To rule, to guide
Amen.
Does anyone have a Spanish version of this prayer? I am having a really difficult time findong one online. Please help!

Hi Miserissima!

Here’s the Spanish version of the prayer:

Ángel de Dios, que eres mi custodio, pues la bondad divina me ha encomendado a ti, ilumíname, dirígeme, guárdeme. Amén.

This and many other prayers can be found in the Spanish version of the Handbook of Prayers, by Rev. James Socias and published in the U.S. by Midwest Theological Forum. But this book is really for adults.

Another one that they publish is a small paperback prayerbook for children which has the English prayers on one page and the Spanish ones on the facing page. It’s called simply “Oraciones/Prayers”. It’s very handy and inexpensive! 👍

Hope this helps!

Navarricano,

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your help. I wil continue to pray for your pilgramage missions and that God will bless you abundantly not only for what you have brought to this forum, but for your private evangelization

After I read one of your earlier posts, I visited your blog and wanted to ask if you had any pictures of St. Teresa of Avila’s tomb at Alba, or any pictures of her relics. Through you I have become already closer to my patron saint and have had a growing attraction to Spain and its importance as a last-line defense for the Church.

Thanks again,
~Mis

I have another one that was taught to me, it sounds sooo cute when i’ve heard little kids pray it, it comes out perfect and innocent

but i still pray it, i just don’t sound as cute 😛

Angel de mi guarda mi dulce compañia
no me desampares ni de noche ni de dia
hasta que me pongas
en paz y alegria
con todos los santos
Jesus Jose y Maria

There has been a big influx of Hispanic and Latino families in my area - and I love it, because we’re all Catholic and my grandparents were immigrants, too. Conversely, I hate it, because it’s difficult to communicate. (I seem to have a mental block to Spanish - my mother spoke Gaelic and Canadian French, my father spoke Russian, Polish, and Yiddish, and my spouse speaks Vietnamese). I have dabbled with Japanese and Serbo-Croatian on active duty, but if I try any more languages I think my head will explode. 😉

What a peach of a family I have been blessed with who live next door to us! They send over food from their picnics, and I reciprocate. They help to shovel my walk, and have even loaned me their lawn mower once. (I sent it back with a tank full o’ gas.) I let the little girls walk the dogs when they ask…truly, truly blessed. :grouphug:

Occasionally their weekend parties are loud with music, but who can complain since they don’t do it often? Heck, I’ve been known to blare the radio when cleaning house in the middle of a weekday…so fair’s fair. 🤷

Thank you, carmel16 for the adorable prayer. I"ll add it to the card we’re making.
