Hi All, if you are in the Philadelphia area this coming Monday, October 9th, the local Ordinariate parish is having a Mass at the Basilica of Sts Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. 7:00 PM.

Anyone who loves reverent liturgy will get to experience what used to be called an Anglican High Mass. All levels of clergy Bishop, Priests, Deacon, Sub-Deacon and Commissioned Acolytes. Lots of incense and the highest level of liturgical music.

Hope to see you there!

The title of this thread is misleading. This is a Catholic Mass of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, commonly called the Anglican Ordinariate. It is not an “Anglican High Mass,” which makes it sound like a service of the Episcopal church.

Got you to click 😉

Sarcasm aside, I hope you got a chance to look at the live stream. It was a beautiful Mass!

I was kind of wondering what the Anglicans had to do with Saint (not Blessed ) John Neumann. Then I realive this is all about Blessed John Henry NEWMAN.

Not to pick nits, but there’s a difference. St. John NEUMANN is important for being the first U.S. male saint, and he has a very high profile in Philadelphia, where his shrine is located.

I’m sure it was a lovely Mass, anyway.
