Has it been determined that the bishops of the ALCC will be allowed to serve as priests?

In accordance with the terms and provisions of the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus and the Complementary Norms, that, and whatever additional education and orientation will be required, will be determined “on an individual basis” by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome. All of the individual bishops (and other clergy) of the ALCC will humbly and graciously accept whatever the CDF decides.

If you check the ALCC’s websites, you will find that the ALCC accepts the 39 Articles of Religion but not as written in the Book of Common Prayer.

The ALCC accepts the 39 Articles of Religion only insofar as they are in agreement with Catholic teaching as reconciled with Catholic teaching by Blessed John Henry Cardinal Henry Cardinal Newman in Tracts for the Times and Tract 99 by its author.

The results is then accepted only insofar as they are in agreement with the teachings of the current Ordinary and Sacred Magisterium as summarized in the current Catechism of the Catholic Church.

In the end, then, at the bottom line, what the ALCC actually accepts as binding on consciences are the teachings of the current Ordinary and Sacred Magisterium as summarized in the current Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Please note the enhanced version of the USCCB’s [academic] Mandatum at the bottom of the website, stmichaelsalcc.org/News.dsp . Every clergyman of the ALCC from the Metropolitan to the newest transitional deacon are required to sign this in the form of a signed, countersigned (receiver) and dated, legally inforcable contract which states *“I hereby declare my role and responsibility as a Deacon, Priest, or Bishop of the Church. Therefore I am committed to teaching Catholic doctrine and to refrain from preaching, teaching, writing, or publishing anything contrary to the Magisterium.” *

This is actually monitored and is strictly enforced. (The ALCC has its own Office for the Doctrine of the Faith. Clergymen who either refused to sign or signed but did not comply with its terms had their regular calls rescinded and were placed into lay communion (i.e. were fired.) The ALCC is deadly serious about teaching only sound Roman Catholic doctrine.
