I’m sorry I know that I recently posted but I have not yet found anywhere to vent my anger and am worried about telling off the family planning doctor in the morning.

I have an appointment to organise teaching regarding nfp. However if you saw my first post you will know that I have taken the oral contraceptive for 8 years, without knowing it was an abortificient.

I have been questioning how I could be so stupid. My memory tells me that in school it was pressed as not being an abortifacient. My memory could be wrong, but thats how i remember it being split, oral contraceptive with condoms etc, the morning after being ‘debated’ and then termination.

I downloaded the leaflet for the oral contraceptive given by the family planning association, nowhere in it does it detail risks to any fertilised egg. It is not there! It is completely left out of the risks section. Which is where I would put it. It does say how it thins the lining to prevent implamantation in the ‘how it works’ section but that is listed third and it states the main way is preventing ovulation.

Why doesnt it say - there is a chance you could still ovulate and the egg could be fertilised, there is then a chance that either you could become pregnant or that the fertilised egg cannot attach and there for you will lose it.

Why is this not in the risks or disadvantages section? It feels a deliberate manipulation.

Maybe its just me that is too stupid to connect the dots, but i dont think it is. Why don’t they explain that to you? It should be explained when perscribed, & even maybe again by a pharmacist. Or the information should be clearer. I feel like asking all the girls I know whether they know this. I have a feeling that unless you went to catholic school or get access to catholic media you wont find out. I learnt about this only because we got cable tv with EWTN before that I had no clue.

I never even got a leaflet when i started it. but thats jsut me being so stupid to just take a tablet perscribed for you without reading about it. I thought i knew it all from school. That terrible moral less place. When they taught abortion they went on and on about what date you could have it up to, and that you will have counselling. But they never mixed that with what is happening at 6, 8, 10 weeks of pregnancy. ‘cells’ they call it, just ‘cells’. Its all just manipulative nonsense.

All they care about is you not getting pregnant for bad demographics. And i have been all the fool for falling for it. It’s been painted as the responsible thing to do, and its actually in truth the most irresponsible thing I have ever done. I’m angry at myself and I’m angry at society.

When I was 15 a girl at school got pregnant and asked me to go with her. I got a shock when they scanned her at 9 weeks and it was a baby. A shock. There must be so many school kids like this.

It’s always going to be under the “clinical pharmacology” section- here’s an example “12.1 Mechanism of Action
COCs lower the risk of becoming pregnant primarily by suppressing ovulation. Other
possible mechanisms may include cervical mucus changes that inhibit sperm penetration and
endometrial changes that reduce the likelihood of implantation.” That one is from teh Loestrin pamphlet.

It will be in the long, legalistic packet, not the shorter cutesy consumer ones. IIRC, they are both included. One looks really long and boring, the other is short and uses less technical language.

I’d be mad, too.

Maybe is there a chance that with my natural periods being 10 dàys & heavy. That even with the pill the lining could still be thick enough. ?? I know that’s probably nonsense I just hope. Only God knows the damage I’ve done

Ahh, pharmaceutical doublespeak. The “risk” of becoming pregnant. Which is of course a “disease” to be “treated” and “cured” by abortion. Fertility likewise a debilitating “illness”. Attitudes foisted upon us by the “health care” industry and the government. It’s incredibly shameful and evil.

i’m glad you are angry. It shows you have a good conscience. Spread the word! May God bless you!

Try not to be angry at yourself. If you weren’t told then you didn’t know. And if you were lied to, how is that your fault?

Why should you be angry at society? If everyone else was told the same things, aren’t they also being misinformed and acting on what they believe to be advice they can trust?

Peace,
Ed

Green -

First welcome to CAF. Use your experience to be a witness to the faith. It’s part of being a branch, connected to the vine. Contraception has been judged as sinful since the beginning of the Church. Even the major reformers spoke out against it. And every major protestant church was against contraception until 1930 when the Anglicans then permitted it. Afterwards, churches caved in to a man invented truth. We are killing in the USA alone, 1.2m babies annually through abortion. This number does not include human life killed by the pill in its third means of preventing pregnancy. Makes you wonder about God’s justice when it comes.

Let’s face it, people who make The Pill and other forms of contraception want to sell product. And yes, it is evil for women to not get the whole story, but it is there in the long, lengthy piece of paper that comes with the pills. Not to raise tempers here, but here’s how it began:

Time, April 1967. Read the headline: Contraception: Freedom from Fear. Fear of what? Babies. A ‘bundle of joy,’ a ‘gift from God,’ is now being marketed as something to fear and The Pill will make your - misplaced - “fear” go away.

Peace,
Ed
