I will unfortunately be away on a business trip for our anniversary. I have tried to manipulate the schedule to avoid this, but it just isn’t going to happen. I have already talked to my dw about it and she is ok since it is our 9th and we plan on taking a cruise for out 10th.

Anyway, the question that I have is I need some ideas besides having flowers delivered that I can still make this a special day for my wife.

Some ideas that I had.
Have flowers delivered.
Hide a present in the house and tell her where it is at on our Anniversary.

Having flowers delivered is expensive! I would forget about that. As a wife (although, of course you know your wife), I would much rather hubby hide a present in the house or entrust it to an older child, than to have a $50 bunch of flowers that will be dead in a week. 🙂

Pick a day either before or after your trip (how long will you be gone?) to celebrate together! Then you can give her some beautiful flowers in person. That’s my :twocents: anyway!

My hubby was away on business for Father’s Day and I hid some goodies, a card, gift, and a couple of little things “from the kids” in his luggage. He really enjoyed finding the surprises when he got to his hotel. He also sent post cards to me and the kids, even though he was only gone for 3 days.

Happy Anniversary! 👍

Could you have a friend drop off a gift at your front door and disappear? If you and your friend both have cellphones, you could coordinate the delivery so you could call your wife as soon as the package is delivered :onpatrol:, and tell her to go outside to find her present on the doorstep. That would be cool!

Otherwise, you could hide a gift somewhere and tell her where to find it, but it’s more fun this way.

Maybe a small gift could be hidden in her coat pocket? Or you could write a note with directions to find the gift, and put the note somewhere where she won’t find it right away - in her second-favourite mug, for example, so she’ll notice it on the second day or something.

Just don’t hide the gift in the oven or the washing machine. I knew a guy who did that (in the oven) and his wife turned the oven on without looking inside it first. Doh! :doh2:

I’m with Sam about the flowers - while it IS SO NICE to receive them, they’re pricey to have delivered and they die within a week. :o

I like the idea of hiding a gift somewhere and telling her where to find it… maybe do a secret treasure hunt thing leaving multiple notes around the house with hints from one note to the next until she finally finds the gift? That would be fun! 👍

Someone check the boards and see what she gets at 9. I think its paper or wood. They don’t get diamonds to like 25 or something.

Ok guys I did some checkin, and we’ve been gettin scammed for the longest. I’ve been married 32 years, and lost count how many times I bought a diamond or gold something. Like at 10 years I gave this diamond ring cause she said it was our 10 year, now I come on here and do some checkin, and find out its tin! Now they’re “amending” the rules to to “modern” and “traditional” to shake us down for diamonds at 10 and pearls at 12?? What about at 20 you buy em a plate! hehehehe!

Anyway just stay with the traditional and ya got the rules on your side. If ya need to print this out go ahead. :takeoff:

Apparently, you can choose between pottery (boring!), willow (can’t figure out what to buy that’s made of willow), or leather. Sounds like leather chaps are the order of the day! 😃

Leather could be little risque!
