Hello, everyone. The best debut post I could make here would be to acknowledge the centenary of the birth of James Joseph Magennis, the only Northern-Ireland born winner of the Victoria Cross, Britain’s highest military honour, in World War II. A Catholic, too.

There are so many heroes who never get their due. He got more than most, but still: Keep him in your prayers today?

I hadn’t heard of him so I just read up on him.
Poor fellow sounds like he was not properly recognized during his lifetime and had kind of a hard life due to being a Catholic and working class. Even sold his VC.
May he rest in peace. I’ll pray for him, though I would hope he’s in Heaven long ago after all he went through on earth.
