Annulment in San Francisco or San Diego

Hello, I’m new to Catholic Answers. I have a question; any help would be greatly appreciated. A friend of mine on the West Coast has the option of applying for an annulment in the Archdiocese of San Francisco or in the Diocese of San Diego. Does anyone have any insights as to the advantages or disadvantages that might result from applying in San Francisco rather than in San Diego, or vice versa? Does one or the other have a particular reputation with regard to its tribunal process, for example? Thanks!

It may go a little faster if the annulment is applied for in the diocese where the marriage took place. Nevertheless, it will have to be sent to the tribunal of a second diocese for review. This is standard procedure. He should apply to the diocese in which he lives.
