I normally do face to face.
During our Lenten communal penance service, there were so many priests that some of them stood in the front of the church and you just formed a line to the priest.
You confessed standing up with the priest right in front of you, and everyone else about 20 feet away from you in the next line for your priest or the the next priest.
Note: the regular confessional was in use for those who wanted behind the screen.
