I was wondering, if I already “paid” for the CD, and obtained the same copy for free online, would this be a sin??
For example, I have a couple of Rage of the Machine CDs and I have fully paid for these legitimately, but I cannot find the CDs in my House anywhere. In some cases, I have physically have the CDs but I broke them… I forgot to rip them to my harddrive and my IPOD accidentally updated itself so I have no tangible copy on me.
This is the disadvantage of using CDs you can lose them easily or misplace them or break them if you arent careful.
If I obtained another copy online as a torrent for CDs that I have already paid for in the past would this constitute as stealing? I already paid for the CD, the CD case is physicaly here with me… so why should I pay for another copy for the sake of being scrupulous?? I dont want to double pay and waste another 60 dollars to get the songs I have already paid for.
