Ok, we know that the thurifer is the one who bears the thurible, the vessel containing the incense.

The person bearing the cross is the crucifer. Would Christ therefore be the first crucifer? And could the crucifer actually bear the crucible?

Would Lucifer bear the lucible, or light vessel?

Lucible * does not exist; those bearing torches are called torchbearers in English. The Latin for torchbearer is taedifer*.

A crucifer carries the *crux *.

The name Lucifer means “bearer of Light.” Of course, he didn’t live up to the name.
