It’s STILL specific to the person. For us, the temperature thing is just mud in the water, confusing the reliable results. Billing mucus method is 100% reliable for us over 10 years. For others, not so much.
I agree…Billings is awesome, but b/c I’m older and would like to have a baby, I do the Sympto-Thermal b/c I want to make sure I’m ovulating. That’s why I choose this one and it’s better for me. The temp shift is a definite measure of ovulation.

I’ve read that women who use Creighton is b/c they are having issues that they need to help p(name removed by moderator)oint. I know nothing about this method though.

Hey guys, thanks for all of the (name removed by moderator)ut and encouragement! I’ve read TCOYF and that is our basis for NFP, as I’ve never studied any other method. I think the Creighton method observes the mucus patterns differently than the sympto-thermal method? I’m trying to contact a CCL teacher as they teach the same method that I’m currently using (sympto-thermal). I think I would feel more comfortable with this method than the others because I am already used to taking my temps and know about the cervical fluid and cervical position patterns. The three signs in conjuction form a pretty reliable basis for NFP I think.

I like taking my temperature because it confirms ovulation has occured. Since I am breastfeeding and one year postpartum, my cycles aren’t yet predictable or normal.

I like hearing how other men are involved in their wives fertility. It’s giving me ideas for my husband. Right now I’m just telling him what point in our cycle we are in. But he’s ignored me one too many times and made advances during fertile times (and my being “in heat” 😛 I don’t seem to have the will power to say no!) Keeping this up, it will only be a matter of time before baby #3 comes along! LOL! So we’ve got to cut that out and get serious about this! My hope is having him take a class with me will help. He is NOT a reader, so having him read my book is out.

Thanks again, all!

The key is to avoid the scenario where you say “no.” You aren’t the gatekeeper (in spite of any old Ghostbuster lines that might come to mind)

Instead, train him to deal with the situation by telling him, “OK, but it means another baby!” Make him be the man.

Believe me, that will get his attention if your reasons for avoiding are serious.

LOL! Great idea! I don’t think anything else would kill his mood as quickly! He is pretty adamant about no more babies, at least for right now!
