i volunteer at my local church as an aide for the second grade ccd class, this is my first year so im not entirely aware of the protocal, but i was wondering - would it be appropriate to ask the priest to hear my confession after or before my second graders recieve their first confession? or is this considered, as it is a special day for them, to be rude? thank you for your time

I say ask him, by all means. In fact, it might be good for the children to see that you go to confession too. Hopefully the priest will be open to it.

ideally, if time and the number of priests permits, the parents and catechists should confess at the same time, because the teaching value of the children seeing the adults who care for them having recourse to the sacrament is immense.
