Another tape surfaces of ObamaCare architect calling American people ‘stupid’

I don’t live in the US, but the image we see internationally is one where a person must mortgage their home for life saving surgery. If they can’t afford it they go without it.

The law requires hospitals to provide life saving medical treatment, but I had a relative who had a kidney stone and the public hospitals turned him away.

That is a painful experience, but not life threatening. It seems that the illegal alien population there had doubled the rate of use for the charity work and by that June that he needed the help there were no funds left.

He resorted to illegal drugs, got addicted and his family fell apart as he struggled with the addiction.

Which is why I think we need something like Obamacare, but a functional system that maximizes people choices as much as it can be accommodated.

Again, I am ignorant on the American political system, but isn’t it hard to get these kind of bills through a hostile congress? I don’t agree with willfully misleading the public and there’s always consequences to pay when it’s done, but it sounds like the deception was on corporate multinationals not the common people, or did I misread the quote?

President Obama’s election was such a horrific affront to a core of conservative Republicans that their goal became to destroy his administration. They drove their agenda based on that singleness of purpose. I don’t like Obama, I think he’s made bad decisions. But there is more than enough blame to go around.

That’s what confuses me. This forum has countless horror stories where members have asked for prayers regarding difficult medical related issues that are almost always coupled to a dire financial situation. I am therefore perplexed how some on here are opposed to a public healthcare safety net.

The number one reason regular people go bankrupt is because of medical expenses. Despite that we (in the U.S.) have the most expensive healthcare system in the world, we still don’t have the highest quality of life or the longest life expectancy. The system we have isn’t working. It’s time to try something else.

Unless one is claiming something is a proven fact, isn’t the assumption that one is giving ones opinion?

Obama has, from the time of his election, not learned how to ‘horse trade’ with Congress. He thinks his ideas are correct and the best he can do is search for agreement on matters that are ‘common ground’ but he wont give up an item he wants in order to get another item he wants, while letting his opponents get the same treatment which is what compromise mostly is.

When the Dems controlled both sides of Congress they simply ignored what the GOP thought about anything. Republican amendments were generally not brought up for a vote in committee, and if they were the Dems voted them down without exception along party lines. When a reporter told Pelosi that the GOP was upset with this treatment, her response was along the lines of ‘We won, they lost, too bad’.

IF you have the money to pay, we have the best health care system in the world. Just compare US survival rates with cancer.

But to ignore the needs of the poor is ungodly. To let a person suffer from a disease that can be cured because they cant pony up the cash for the drugs is heartless. When their treatable condition generates into grotesquely expensive catastrophic care surgery it is just stupid.

Yes. It was a pre-emptive move to fend off people who would demand that I provide facts, proofs, etc. that I am not prepared to give, simply because it’s a notion that I have in my head.
