Answer to the Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children

What happened to today’s scheduled program for Catholic Answers Live, the ‘Battle of Prayer’? Did the devil stop it from happening? I had the perfect question rehearsed for the program. I will list the conversation I was planning to have below. If someone asks me where to go for more information on the idea, I will post it. I was thinking that prayerfully considering the idea would have been a perfect homework assignment for those who had just received a lesson from Father John on the Battle of Prayer (from the catechism) on the ‘Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children’. Caller: Good timing for a show on the battle of prayer, because today’s the day of prayer for the legal protection of unborn children. Here’s my question. Let’s say that I’ve been given the answer to the prayer, and it’s an idea for a two-step law which would end abortion. How do I put the idea out there for everyone’s prayerful consideration?

Host: You can do it here. How much time do you need?

Caller: 80 seconds, 15 to state the formula, and 65 to explain it.

Host: OK, go.

Caller: The idea is captured in a two-step formula, and writing it down helps us maintain focus. The formula is this:

CHOICE / 2 + LIFE = THE END OF ABORTION

The “+ LIFE” means “add legal protection of unborn children,” but before we can do that, we must divide CHOICE by two.

Now, it’s also helpful to write down the CHOICE. The CHOICE of an unwed pregnant woman is this:

EITHER
she lets the pregnancy CONTINUE and he PAYS for starting it by paying child support
OR
she TERMINATES the pregnancy and he is ACQUITTED of starting it.

Abortion is COMMON, because it ACQUITS the man of starting an unwanted pregnancy. To make abortion RARE, separate HIS choice out of hers, and let his be between two ways that he can PAY for starting an unwanted pregnancy.

The only people who will be opposed to the idea are people who make a living off terminating illegitimate pregnancies and whoremongers who want to continue having a way to be acquitted of starting illegitimate pregnancies. If that’s a small minority, then ignorance of the idea is the only thing preventing it from becoming law.
