Answer to what the "I am" group is; are they a cult?

Lets just remember Before we judge anyone for their spiritual beliefs that we are all children In God’s eyes.Being an all American mutt of Jewish Catholic Spanish Middle Eastern and Eastern European background, I consider myself American before I label myself as a particular race or religion.Growing up in New York I have had the privilege of befriending people of various cultures and religion.My friends are of all faiths and cultural back grounds and before I judge I try to see a piece of god in everyone.I read earlier about the bakery owner Who wasn’t sure about selling her bakery to members of the I am.Let me explain What I am is before it is labeled as a cult .The I am was founded by Edna and Guy Ballard in 1938 .The phraise I am simply means god is in me .God has filled people with light (hence you are the light of the world).Therefore the light in you is god in you .They study the teachings of St. Germain who was called the wonder man of Europe and the ascended masters(which includes the Holy Trinity).One I am member named Mark Prophet founded the summit Lighthouse The original I am is the Basis of their teachings.Both groups do decrees repetitive prayers set to a fast rhythm.They are encouraged to protect their purity by abstaining from drugs liquor and premarital relations .They are encouraged to do community volunteer work in their church and for charity.They are not a religions but a spiritual teaching who prayer for world concerns such as the economy terrorist and a natural disaster victims .As well as, for the things they need.Their are various churches that are similar and interfaith.The people just have different perception of what god and faith are.I know members of some of these churches and they are regular people who have jobs and familys.They put their pants on 1 leg at at time like everyone else.
I think before we ask if something is a cult or dangerous we have to remember how the original Apostles and Disciples were treated.that they were looked at the same way the bakery owner looked at the I am.So if consistent prayers charitable works and a sense of purity is dangerous then golly everyone in a religion on spiritual teaching is in a cult.In addition,If communal living is a cult thing then all the men and women of the cloth who live in monasteries better change their addresses.I am not trying to anger anyone but if you would like to know ,the I Am well not harm you.They are to busy seeing god as love in you

I can’t understand most of what you wrote, but if it not an authentic Catholic spiritual group, lay institute or the like endorsed by the Church it is unlikely to be of any value to a Catholic. Who are these founders? What is their background? How did they start the group? Under whose authority? Do they profess ties with the Church? Do they charge money for their ministries? What does the bishop of their diocese say about their activities?

I don’t know what your question is but “I AM” is a cult IMHO.

Any group under any name that professes ideals, spiritual or occult, and draws people away from the Catholic Church or Jesus is to me a cult. Even if their word is well intended, they act as a vehicle for separating people from the church and God.

Even if they say, “I AM” means that God is with them or within them, this does not change that they are false prophets, IMHO, and leading people astray with their dogma.

Trust in the Catholic church and Jesus’ gospel not fractured spiritual group entities that may be idols.

Anybody can start a group or religion and call it whatever they like and profess whatever serves their agenda, this is why there are so many protestant churches and other groups calling themselves churches. People that call themselves spiritual or spiritualist will often believe in anything.

I have had a lot of experience in this area so take it or leave it. I know a cult when I see one, IMHO.
